Lovely Oliver is a two year old male French Bulldog. He arrived at Mayhew because his owner was unable to cope. He’s a sensitive chap who needs to feel loved and understood. He will require a calm and experienced owner who has the time and patience to continue his training and build a connection with him. With the right owner he will make a loyal and well-behaved companion. He suffers with some of the common Frenchie medical problems including atopic dermatitis, he needs his skin folds, chin and paws cleaned daily, regular baths and regular ear cleaning.
He will also require a lot of one-to-one attention, he becomes stressed and anxious easily, and if he doesn’t get the daily interaction he needs he becomes destructive and will also self mutilate. At the moment he can’t be left home alone but once settled, it’s hoped he will cope with being left alone for an hour or so on the occasional basis. He can live with sensible teenagers who are used to being around dogs and won’t be intimated by his boisterous nature. He’ll need to be the only pet in the home.
Due to his reactivity towards other dogs and traffic he’s looking for a rural or semi-rural home. Oliver has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea & worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.
