Nora is a 2 year old female French Bulldog. Nora came into rescue over six months ago in terrible condition, her owners had tried everything to help Nora but nothing made a difference. Nora was suffering from Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea. Read more in this link. We did not advertise Nora as her condition was critical. We had no idea If we could save her but we had to try. We have worked with our vets and her wonderful foster has consulted and read every article possible to try and help Nora, every diet possible known to man has been tried to help this little lady. After 6 months of trying and knowing that Nora was clearly getting depressed, lacking energy and totally unable to have any sort of normal life, an appointment was booked with the vets to consider Nora’s future.

We all met and decided through tears if sadness that life was not pleasant for Nora and she had declined further. She had no weight on her, no energy and was always chilly. This was on top of constantly passing diarrhea day and night, needing to be bathed many times a day. It was decided that Nora would have some special time with her foster, she wanted to take her to the beach, for her to experience things that she may never do again before her time came. This decision was heart breaking and even when it had been decided we were all still looking at ways to save her. A chance chat amongst vets offered a glimmer of hope, a dietary breakthrough from her foster gave more hope. No one dared imagine that she could survive and go on to make such a wonderful recovery.

Each week she improved gave us all hope – no one will understand the joy at receiving a picture message at 7am showing a formed poo! This poo was the most viewed picture for some time. Against all of the odds and because of the true dedication of her foster and our vets Nora has not only survived, she has defied the odds and overcome. Yes it has been costly but who can put a price on the gift of life, a life that was so nearly ended. We never gave up hope and Nora will always be a shinning light in what is sometimes a bleak world.

Nora will need to continue on her diet to ensure she remains in tip top condition. All of her medical history will be made available to serious applicants. Aside from needing to maintain her diet, Nora is a totally normal adorable little frenchie. She loves life and is full of fun and energy. She loves her walks and travels well in the car. She is great with other dogs and would be fine to be re homed with older sensible teenagers. Nora will need new owners who are around for most of the day, this is what she is used to and she loves her humans too much to be left alone for long periods. Nora has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. She is currently on foster in Rainham Essex.
