Bungle is an 8 week old male French Bulldog. Many of you will have been following little bungle awaiting news. This poor little chap has issues and we wanted to wait until we were fully able to assess his conditions and what they mean for him and his future.
Bungle as you all know was born with a cleft pallet, non life threatening provided they either take to a bottle or are happy being tube fed. Bungle has thrived being tube fed and is now eating solids as any “normal” pup would. As he has grown Bungle’s foster mum noticed he was a little way behind other pups his age – although he was doing everything he should it was always a little late. Also as his body grew so did his head. Bungle has been diagnosed with Hydrocephalus.

At this moment in time Bungle is not suffering any adverse symptoms, he is not in pain, he has a great quality of life and is much loved. We could not make the decision to end Bungle’s life whilst he is clearly so very happy and thriving.
Bungle is happy and content, we have no idea what the future holds for him but he is being very carefully monitored to ensure he is pain free. His life will be considerably short but we can make it happy and filled with lots of love.
*Update January 2017*
Bungle was a little luckier in that he just has a cleft pallet that will need to be repaired surgically. This little lad has always been a little slower to do things, but he always gets it in the end. After some further investigation Bungle has also been diagnosed with Hydracephalus (Water on the Brain). There is little that can be done for this condition but all the while Bungle is pain free we will let him enjoy his life and ensure he gets whatever he needs. The next important point will be deciding if it is viable to repair his cleft pallet. This is a question we cannot answer until the time comes and we have the opinion of our surgeon.
We are currently fundraising for both boys surgeries.
